Series Offers Information on Nutrition for Breast Cancer Patients

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center is offering a four-part series dedicated to educating breast cancer survivors about nutrition after the completion of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

The series will be held on the following Wednesdays: October 1, 15, 22, and 29, 2008 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Conference Room A/B at the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center at 536 Saybrook Road in Middletown.

Information will focus on practical skills for label reading, decision making at the grocery store, dining out healthfully, setting goals and checking progress. Discussion and active participation are encouraged.

Ginny Pettinicchi, a registered dietitian, will conduct the classes.

Cost is $20 per session or pre-payment of $80 for all four sessions can be made at the door at the first class by cash or check only, payable to Middlesex Hospital. If paying in cash, the exact amount is required. To pre-register for one or more sessions, call (860) 358-6780.
