Look Good, Feel Better
The Middlesex Hospital Look Good, Feel Better program is for women in cancer treatment . . . and in charge of their lives. This program is sponsored by the American Cancer Society, in partnership with the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrance Association. Look Good, Feel Better is a national public-service program dedicated to helping women living with cancer learn special cosmetic techniques and hair alternatives to manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer and its treatment. A boosted morale and improved self-image often make handy weapons when facing and combating their disease. The program is designed for women who are experiencing side effects from cancer treatment; it offers advice and tips from cosmetology professionals to help women solve cosmetic quandaries such as applying makeup, dry skin and discolored nails, choosing and caring for wigs, and learning how to tie scarves, turbans and other head coverings.
