Hospital Offers Meditation Classes for Cancer Patients

February 06, 2008

A series of hour-long meditation sessions for cancer patients is being offered at the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center,

536 Saybrook Road
in Middletown.

Simple meditation can help cancer patients cope with the stresses of their disease.  It can help them feel more in control of their emotions and rest deeply so that the thoughts, feelings, or side effects of treatment are not so overwhelming.

The sessions are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and include a presentation, practice period and discussion.  All cancer patients and their caregivers or loved ones are welcome to participate and no experience is necessary.
