Yoga Offered at Cancer Center

 The new Center for Integrative Medicine at the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center is offering an eight-week yoga class. The class will be held from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, from September 30 through November 18, 2008, in the Cancer Center’s Wellness Room. The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center is located at 536 Saybrook Road in Middletown.

 Yoga has proven benefits for cancer patients – those in active treatment and post-treatment. Therapeutic yoga offers support for the immune system, can help to ease medication side effects and balance energy to address fatigue. Classes are for any cancer patient, patients’ and their guests. Debra Campagna, a certified yoga therapist, is the instructor.

 Cost is $100 for all eight sessions. Payment may be made at the first session by check or credit card. Registration is required by calling (860) 358-2457.
