Surgical Site Marking

Middlesex Hospital was among the first hospitals in the country to institute a mandatory surgical site marking program before it was required by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities (JCAHO). This program ensures that no surgery takes place unless the site of the surgery and the procedure to be performed have been clearly identified and verified by the patient, surgical nurses, anesthesiologist and other technicians. It's just another example of why Middlesex Hospital is a leader in quality and patient safety.
